The purpose of this group is to help promote belly dancing and belly dancers in the Greater Chicagoland area. This provides a cohesive effort to let other bellydancers know of great workshops in the area, dance benefits, dance performances, and cool cultural events that may benefit for the greater good and interest of this dance and the cultures of the countries from whence it comes.

This is a group for anyone interested in learning tribal style belly dance. Tribal style belly dance is a beautiful form of dance combing Indian kathak, Oriental belly dance, and Spanish Flamenco movement. Dancers learn movements and cues for those movements, and perform them improvisationally with lead dancer changes. No previous dance experience is necessary.
